paulBRYANS

Paul Bryans was born on Vancouver Island and raised in the remote areas of the Queen Charlotte Islands and Nigeria, Africa.

Paul was educated in Hereford, England and completed his Fine Arts degree at Okanagan University in Kelowna, B.C.   He studied photography at St Lawrence College in Kingston, Ont. and life drawing at the Toronto School of Art.

During the 1990’s he participated in many group and private shows in Victoria, B.C.  Paul is a founding member of the Alliance of Salt Spring Artists, and has shown his paintings at a number of their shows since its inception in 1995.  He is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.

His painting, whether dark and surreal, exuberant with colour and drama, or tranquil and delicate, all draw you into his reality.  His work can best be described as vividly expressionist.  Paul’s paintings are in private and corporate collections worldwide.  Paul has lived on Salt Spring Island since 1993.

“I consider my life with all its twists and turns of fate to be an ongoing process in the Art of Living!  My adventuresome nature is passionately revealed in my work.  I explore my emotional depths through my painting, reflected in the range of unique styles and techniques I have developed in the past 25 years.  It is a rare day that my paint brush lays idle.”
