 Scrimshaw

 Ginny Hall

Scrimshaw is the art of etching designs into polished ivory and applying ink to the porous lines. The technique, now known for its colorful images and fine detail, first blossomed during the 17th century by whalers.

These works are etched onto Mammoth ivory.
