The contemplative toad sitting on a marble base.
The inspiration for this sculpture comes from my fascination with the beauty of the natural world and it's miniature creatures. The toad, being one of the most intriguing characters of the amphibian world and appreciation of it's place in our environment, gives us a point of reference to ourselves, thereby making this toad sculpture an icon of contemplation.
This toad sitting on a marble base is created from cold cast bronze which is made from resin sintered bronze metal powder also known as 'bonded bronze', then polished to develop a patina with the appearance of hot bronze.
