This mask was masterfully carved from cedar and skilfully crafted in the Nishaga style, inspired by the 1880 'Old Woman Mask with Labret' and Freda Diesing's 'Old Woman with Lip Ornament'.

Tom Duquette, living on Saturna Island, British Columbia and bestowed the name "Ghaiaanook" by Chief Frank Baker--which translates to "great carver"--has received immense adulation and his creations are now part of esteemed collections worldwide.
