'SOL'
This exquisitely stylized 'SOL' pendant was created from an original carved in pattern wax and translated into a limited edition kiln cast crystal glass pendant designed by Thomas McPhee. Thomas designs and creates the original artwork and Judy casts and finishes the piece.
The ruby red glass crystals were cast to make this unique limited edition pendant. Set in a cast sterling silver bale created by Thomas.
Set glass pendant measures 25.4mm x 34.5mm x 15mm set on a 17 inch Sterling Silver Chain with sterling silver lobster clasp.
Pâte de verre is a formula for cast lead crystal glass developed among ancient classical societies and revived by French decorative arts like Galle and Tiffany at the turn of the 20th Century. We have developed our own process down to the point of being able to imitate original material. Some cast pieces resemble gem stones such as amethyst, sapphire, tourmaline or emerald. It can also look like jade or agate with the opaque coloured glass.
