Dana Irving

Dana Irving is a Canadian artist, living and working in North Vancouver, British Columbia.  She was born in Prince George in 1959.  Dana studied at Douglas College and Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver and at Victoria College of Art in Victoria.  Her diverse background includes formal fine art, interior design, graphic design and photography.

In 1987, Dana began a commissioned arts company called “Famous Painters Ltd”.  This company has produced some of the largest and most ambitious custom artworks in the world.  Murals by Famous Painters have been contracted for corporate and private clients all over North America.

Dana continues with commissioned work as well as her more personal style of gallery painting.

Dana’s landscape paintings have been described as “Emily Carr” meets “Dr. Seuss”!  Her work is dramatic and yet whimsical at times, powerful and coy.

Dana is inspired by the nature of the Pacific Northwest and is influenced by North American landscape painters of the 1930′s and 40′s.

Dana is concerned with the drama of light and shade, the animation of trees and hills and the weather around them.  Her work is a constant exploration and expression of these ideas.

Dana’s paintings are available in galleries in Vancouver and on Salt Spring Island.
